IITA Outreach Coordinator Nigeria is now hiring for 2025. This internationally recruited position plays a pivotal role in the Nigeria Agricultural Transformation Agenda Support Program‑Phase I (ATASP‑I), funded by the African Development Bank. In this role, you will lead the ATASP‑I Outreach Program Implementation Team, managing outreach activities across rice, sorghum, and cassava value chains in four key zones: Adani‑Omor, Bida‑Badeggi, Kano‑Jigawa, and Kebbi‑Sokoto. Your contributions will address agricultural constraints, promote infrastructure, and help generate employment and wealth in Nigeria’s staple crop sectors.

What You’ll Do

You’ll oversee the daily operations of the outreach program, ensuring effective delivery and compliance with AfDB funding rules. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading program implementation and supervising outreach staff

  • Preparing and submitting quarterly, annual, and audit reports

  • Coordinating budgets and resources to support implementing partners

  • Monitoring fund usage and ensuring financial accountability

  • Managing procurement processes under AfDB guidelines

  • Liaising with commodity specialists to develop annual work plans

  • Promoting youth involvement in agribusiness through targeted initiatives

  • Planning and facilitating program meetings and special studies

  • Liaising with related projects to ensure cohesive outreach activities

  • Publishing results and supporting project communication efforts

  • Undertaking additional tasks as assigned by IITA leadership

Who You Are

The ideal IITA Outreach Coordinator Nigeria candidate will bring:

  • A postgraduate degree in agriculture or a related field

  • At least 15 years of relevant work experience in Africa, including five years at a managerial level

  • Strong skills in team leadership, youth program initiation, and stakeholder coordination

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Understanding of AfDB project management rules and Nigeria’s research and extension systems

  • Fluent English writing and communication skills
