Position: Learning & Development Specialist
Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers State
Employment Type: Full-time

As a Learning & Development Specialist at Oilserv Limited, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Head of Human Resources to effectively deliver the company’s L&D and recruitment strategies. Your responsibilities will encompass identifying development needs, designing and delivering training solutions, and evaluating the effectiveness of learning interventions across the organization .

Key Responsibilities

Training Coordination: Schedule and coordinate training sessions, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and employee development needs.
Needs Assessment: Collaborate with line managers and department heads to conduct training needs assessments (TNA) and incorporate operational requirements.
Program Evaluation: Develop and manage evaluation methods and reporting metrics to assess the effectiveness of training programs.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with training providers and accreditation bodies to deliver effective training activities.
Learning Management: Drive employee engagement with the Learning Management System (LMS), promoting self-paced learning and tracking usage to ensure value.
Budget Management: Monitor training and development costs, assisting in budget preparation and ensuring cost-effective training solutions.
Performance Management: Coordinate performance management procedures across business units and implement routine performance audits.
Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental practices at all times.

Qualifications & Skills

Educational Background: B.Sc/HND in Management, Social Sciences, or a related discipline from a reputable institution.
Professional Certifications: CIPMN, SHRM, CIPD, or CIPM certifications are advantageous.
Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of cumulative experience in an HR/Learning & Development role, preferably within the oil and gas industry.
Technical Proficiency: Working knowledge of Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) or SAP HR; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the organization.
Organizational Skills: Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
