As part of its expansion, International Breweries Plc is seeking passionate and dedicated individuals to join their team as Brewing Operators. This full-time position is based in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a world-class brewing operation.
Key Responsibilities
As a Brewing Operator, your role will encompass various critical functions to ensure the efficient and safe operation of brewing processes:
Operating and Process Control
Equipment Operation: Safely operate brewing equipment in areas such as Brewhouse, Fermentation, Maturation, and Filtration, adhering to VPO (Visual Production Organization) standards.
Process Monitoring: Continuously review process performance against targets, recording short stops, and correcting any deviations using VPO tools.
Documentation: Accurately record waste and product movement using appropriate documentation or information systems.
Maintenance of Plant and Equipment
Autonomous Operations: Perform autonomous operations as defined for the process areas.
Defect Identification: Identify defective plant equipment and report these to the Process Artisan or Team Leader for resolution.
Assistance in Repairs: Assist the Process Artisan/Machine Specialist in executing running repairs during shifts.
Communication and Team Collaboration
Shift Meetings: Actively participate in shift meetings, contributing suggestions and asking questions to ensure understanding.
Team Engagement: Fully understand and contribute to achieving the team’s objectives.
Shift Handover: Ensure a thorough handover to incoming shift team members, communicating issues related to plant performance, quality, and maintenance.
Quality Control and Analysis
Quality Checks: Carry out required quality checks and analyses, recording results on the appropriate information systems.
Problem Resolution: React promptly to quality issues using VPO tools and escalate as necessary.
Problem Solving
Issue Resolution: Utilize VPO problem-solving tools to address and record issues promptly.
Continuous Improvement: Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process quality and productivity.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for the Brewing Operator position, candidates should meet the following criteria:
Educational Qualification: Minimum of OND, B.Sc, or HND in Sciences or Engineering.
Experience: Experience in a brewing process environment is advantageous.
Skills and Attributes:
Logical and analytical problem-solving abilities.
Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
High level of initiative and energy.

This position is based at the Port Harcourt Brewery in Rivers State, Nigeria.
