The Role & Responsibilities

As PMO Director, you’ll be accountable for:

• Establishing and managing standardized PMO systems, governance frameworks, workflows and templates aligned with World Bank guidelines.

• Overseeing multiple project portfolios, ensuring alignment with company strategy, budget control, scope management, risk mitigation, and timely delivery.

• Coordinating core stakeholders including ministries, contractors, funders, and internal teams, reporting regularly to senior leadership committees.

• Optimizing resource allocation, driving quality standards, cost transparency, and performance analytics.

• Implementing project management tools, dashboards, BI reporting (e.g., Power BI, SharePoint), financial tracking and executive-level reporting frameworks.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Advanced degree in Project Management, Engineering, Business, or related field; PMP/PRINCE2 certification strongly preferred.

• At least 8–12 years leadership experience managing large-scale, donor‑funded or infrastructure projects, ideally in a PMO leadership role.

• Proven skills in financial oversight, forecasting, cost control, and performance reporting.

• Expertise in technology‑enabled PMO systems: MS Project, SharePoint, BI tools, SAP‑integrated reporting.

• Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, including collaboration with government agencies and international partners.

Location & Working Terms

• Location: Remote with occasional travel to Abuja, Nigeria and project sites.

• Engagement: Long‑term leadership contract or senior consultancy, depending on arrangement with Aventa.

• Sector: World Bank‑funded infrastructure, governance or development portfolios.
