Role Overview

As an Area Sales Manager, you will be instrumental in:

  • Driving Sales Growth: Achieving secondary and primary sales targets through effective distributor management and resource allocation.

  • Team Leadership: Coaching and developing Territory Managers, distributors, and their sales teams to ensure optimal performance and execution of trade activities.

  • Market Execution: Implementing customer strategies at the point of sale to enhance brand visibility and market share.

  • Operational Excellence: Overseeing trade activations, ensuring accurate outlet records, and identifying opportunities for route-to-market improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate regional Customer Development plans into actionable territory strategies to meet sales objectives.

  • Optimize sales infrastructure, including territory, distributor, and channel outlet management.

  • Drive visibility through planogram implementation, POSM deployment, and share of shelf initiatives.

  • Manage distributor profitability and ensure return on working capital investments.

  • Conduct regular performance reviews and implement corrective actions to achieve KPIs.

Qualifications & Experience

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in field sales within the FMCG sector, with a proven track record of achieving sales targets.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop sales personnel.

  • Excellent planning, organizational, and analytical abilities.

  • Proficiency in using sales management tools and systems.
