NDE Renewed Hope Employment Initiative

NDE Renewed Hope Employment Initiative is now in full swing, providing an excellent opportunity for unemployed Nigerians to gain vocational and entrepreneurial skills, receive stipends and starter kits, and launch sustainable careers across the nation.

The NDE Renewed Hope Employment Initiative Phase 2 was officially flagged off nationwide as part of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda. The program aims to train 41,307 unskilled and unemployed Nigerians across all 36 states and the FCT in over 30 in-demand skills—including vocational, entrepreneurial, ICT, agriculture, and public works—with full inclusivity ensured by selecting at least four beneficiaries from each of the 8,809 electoral wards.

About the NDE Renewed Hope Employment Initiative

This flagship initiative from the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) is designed to bridge the skills gap, empower youth and vulnerable groups, and drive economic development through job creation. Phase 2 builds upon the success of Phase 1 launched in December 2024, which trained 32,692 Nigerians. A revamped digital registration portal now supports transparent, equitable, and inclusive selection with geofencing and scalable systems.

Locations and Beneficiary Selection

Phase 2 is being rolled out in states such as Oyo, Imo, Ebonyi, Akwa Ibom, Kwara, and nationwide, ensuring regional accessibility and reach. Selected candidates will be trained locally, often within their communities or state training centers, enhancing convenience and participation.

Key Benefits of NDE Renewed Hope Employment Initiative

Participants gain practical benefits including free skills training, monthly stipends, completion certificates, starter packs to launch businesses, and access to soft loans or credit facilities. In Phase 1, 5,532 trainees were resettled with starter packs, and Phase 2 expects to resettle 14,457 beneficiaries similarly.

Who Can Apply

The NDE Renewed Hope Employment Initiative is open to a wide audience: unemployed youth, school leavers, graduates, artisans, women, persons with disabilities, rural dwellers, retirees, and micro business owners aged between 18 and 45 (age bands vary by scheme).
