Latest ECOWAS Careers West Africa Jobs are now open for qualified applicants from across the region. The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), headquartered in Abuja, Nigeria, is actively recruiting professionals to support its sectoral institutions and programmes. ECOWAS seeks to fill positions in areas such as administration, finance, information technology, trade, agriculture, peace and security, infrastructure, and legal affairs.

Since 1975, ECOWAS has worked to promote economic integration and regional development across 15 member countries. Today’s recruitment drive positions it to further strengthen institutional capacity in governance, digital transformation, and program delivery.

Who Can Apply?

Eligible individuals must be nationals of one of ECOWAS’s member states, including Nigeria, Ghana, Mali, and others . Applicants must be 45 years old or younger, possess a valid international passport or national identification, and have a minimum of five credits in WASSCE or equivalent—including English and Mathematics.

  • Assessment method: Assessment of qualified candidates may include a written exercise and a competency-based interview.

  • This position is subject to local recruitment pursuant to staff rule article 9.3 of the ECOWAS Staff Regulations (revised 2021).
  • All staff in the General Service and related categories shall be recruited from ECOWAS citizens who are resident in the Member state where the position has been advertised. A staff member subject to local recruitment shall not be eligible for the allowances or benefits exclusively applicable to international recruitment.
