Position Overview: Sales and Commercial Adviser

  • Location: Lagos, Nigeria

  • Employment Type: Full-time

  • Department: Shell Energy Nigeria – Sales and Commercial Team

Key Responsibilities

The Sales and Commercial Adviser will play a strategic role in business growth and customer engagement. Key tasks include:

  • Sourcing and acquiring new customers for Shell’s domestic gas sales

  • Managing and renewing gas sales and purchase agreements

  • Driving volume growth of at least 5% year-on-year

  • Supporting negotiations and finalization of new commercial deals

  • Conducting competitive market research and customer intelligence reporting

  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships

  • Coordinating closely with legal, regulatory, and financial teams to ensure compliance and deal success

  • Promoting Shell’s values and aligning deals with its business principles and ethical standards

Required Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree (BSc/BA/HND) in a relevant discipline

  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in the oil and gas sector, gas distribution, or energy-related commercial roles

  • Strong understanding of Nigeria’s gas market and energy sector regulations

  • Proven experience in deal structuring, commercial negotiation, and contract management

  • Ability to work independently, lead commercial strategies, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and stakeholder management skills

  • Passion for clean energy solutions and sustainability
