The Nigerian Red Cross Society is recruiting for the position of Branch Weapon Contamination (WeC) Focal Person to support community safety and risk awareness across three northern states. These full-time roles are based in Adamawa, Borno, and Yobe, and are central to the Risk Awareness and Safer Behaviour (RASB) initiative.

Primary Purpose
The WeC Focal Person will be tasked with planning, implementing, and evaluating Weapon Contamination risk awareness activities. Collaborating closely with ICRC field teams, you will ensure proper community outreach and safer behavior messaging.
Key Responsibilities

Coordinate RASB activities in collaboration with ICRC and NRCS national headquarters

Lead project implementation stages: planning, execution, follow-up, and evaluation

Engage with local communities using interactive methods like songs or games

Manage educational tools, resources, and equipment related to the project

Support training and extension of RASB activities during weekends or holidays as needed

Assist in broader relief or disaster initiatives as required by branch leadership
Requirements & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or HND in a relevant field
Experience:
-
Minimum of 3 years’ professional experience in weapons contamination or mine action response

Previous involvement with Red Cross or Red Crescent operations
Skills: -
Good command of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and web-based tools

Strong communication, community engagement, and facilitation abilities

Positive attitude during irregular working hours and assignment locations
