We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Legal Officer to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the legal and corporate governance functions of a leading organization in the Nigerian pension industry.
Key Responsibilities
As a Legal Officer at PAL Pensions, your primary duties will include:
Legal Advisory:Providing legal advice on various matters, including corporate governance, compliance, and regulatory issues.
Contract Management:Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts to ensure the company’s interests are protected.
Litigation Management:Overseeing and managing litigation cases, including preparing legal documents and representing the company in legal proceedings.
Regulatory Compliance:Ensuring the company adheres to all relevant laws and regulations, including the Pension Reform Act and other applicable legislation.
Corporate Governance:Assisting in maintaining statutory books and records, preparing board papers, and ensuring compliance with corporate governance standards.
Qualifications & Experience
To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:
A minimum of a 2:2 Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B) or its equivalent.
A minimum of seven (7) years of legal advisory experience, preferably within the financial or pension sector.
Admission to the Nigerian Bar (BL) and membership in relevant professional bodies.
Proven experience in corporate governance and company secretarial functions.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
