We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Legal Officer to join our team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the legal and corporate governance functions of a leading organization in the Nigerian pension industry.

Key Responsibilities

As a Legal Officer at PAL Pensions, your primary duties will include:

  • Legal Advisory: Providing legal advice on various matters, including corporate governance, compliance, and regulatory issues.

  • Contract Management: Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts to ensure the company’s interests are protected.

  • Litigation Management: Overseeing and managing litigation cases, including preparing legal documents and representing the company in legal proceedings.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring the company adheres to all relevant laws and regulations, including the Pension Reform Act and other applicable legislation.

  • Corporate Governance: Assisting in maintaining statutory books and records, preparing board papers, and ensuring compliance with corporate governance standards.

Qualifications & Experience

To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:

  • A minimum of a 2:2 Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B) or its equivalent.

  • A minimum of seven (7) years of legal advisory experience, preferably within the financial or pension sector.

  • Admission to the Nigerian Bar (BL) and membership in relevant professional bodies.

  • Proven experience in corporate governance and company secretarial functions.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
