Job Title: Procurement Officer
Location: Field Office (e.g., Dar es Salaam, Tanzania)
Employment Type: Full-time, Contract (typically 6 months with possible extension)
Reports To: Admin Coordinator or Procurement Manager
Job Summary
As a Procurement Officer at Qatar Charity, you will manage the end-to-end procurement process, ensuring timely, cost-effective, and quality delivery of goods and services. You will also support logistics, inventory, and vendor management in line with organizational guidelines and donor requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement (≈60%)

Coordinate the full procurement cycle: sourcing, tendering, evaluations, negotiations, contract management, and issuance of purchase documents

Prepare RFQs, POs, receipts, contracts, and procurement reports

Maintain supplier database and conduct market surveys to secure competitive pricing

Collaborate with internal teams—program, finance, admin—to meet procurement timelines

Ensure compliance with QC policies and donor regulations; maintain accurate documentation for audits
Logistics & Inventory (≈40%)

Coordinate transportation, storage, and delivery of supplies

Monitor stock levels, update inventory systems, and conduct routine audits

Support field operations with logistical and travel arrangements

Ensure warehouses are compliant with safety standards and all transactions are documented
Requirements & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or related discipline

Minimum 2 years of experience in procurement and logistics—preferably with INGOs or humanitarian agencies

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; knowledge of ERP or logistics software is a plus

Strong organizational, negotiation, and communication skills

Fluency in English; local language (e.g., Kiswahili) beneficial depending on location
